Lakeside, Michigan

The Indians called this part of Harbor Country Chikaming, which means “the shore of the sea.” Appropriately, Lakeside is known for its grand expanse of beach and lakefront land, which features a mix of old estate properties and newly constructed homes. This stable, multigenerational community features a small village shopping area and the landmark Lakeside Inn. Early visitors were administrators and faculty from the University of Chicago, as well as Al Capone who came to drink and gamble.
